our local nz wedding.

Hawkes Bay, NZ

Neil & I both grew up in small-town Hawkes Bay, so when it came time for us to tie the knot, we imagined a small, organic event, deep in the heart of…. you guessed it! We were planning our wedding from overseas in Toronto, so to eliminate extra stress we knew we wanted an intimate, relaxed day with our closest family and friends.

Following our first look surrounded by greenery – captured perfectly by Richard Wood – we drove up Te Mata Peak to capture the breathtaking scenery before heading down the valley to our ceremony.

I wore a lace gown by Rue de Seine from Loversland.

Our gorgeous florals were crafted by the talented The Floraliste – Kerin Greville. They topped off our rustic lemon and thyme cake made with love by my Mum ♥︎

Neil chose to have his suit custom-made at Indochino

Our ceremony took place at Black Barn’s River Room – overlooking Te Mata Peak and the Tuki Tuki River.

That look!

Processional: Wildflowers by Tom Petty and the HeartBreakers – live guitar and vocals by Wyn Drabble

First Dance: If I Move to Mars by Thomas Oliver

Such a perfect day. My advice to anyone planning now: don’t go overboard with your guest list. Stay true to yourselves. I loved, loved, loved that I was able to enjoy each guest, and still relax with my husband and the people who matter most to us.
